The Microsoft Windows operating system has continued to evolve with each edition. The Window 8 iteration can be called as a landmark as it heralded the software giant primary focus on tabled style touch interface. While the new interface and its associated set of apps available through the Windows marketplace has surely added a zing to the OS, some users have experienced difficulty in adopting to the new interface. Most desktop applications still do not tend to work well without a keyboard and thus there is an urgent need to address the issue. Well the Tabtip On Demand 1.0 does that by providing an on demand keyboard that remains in the background and can show up on just one click when needed.
The Tabtip On Demand 1.0 sports a neat styling and can replicate an actual keyboard on the screen. When you wish to bring up the keyboard, you just need to make a click on its icon present in the system tray and the virtual keyboard would show up. The tool provides an interesting solution to those users who are still not comfortable with the table style interface. Instead of switching back to a Windows 7 style classical interface and losing out other advantages, they can install this little program and enjoy the best of both worlds. The application incidentally has a very compact setup file and can also work on 64 bit operating systems without any hassles. The application offers multiple modes for carrying out the typing tasks and has a specific mode that is essentially designed for drawing tablets and can even recognize calligraphy.
On account of its overall usability and the amount of convenience the Tabtip On Demand 1.0 offers to its users, we mark it with a score of three rating stars. In fact I personally found it to be rather handy while inputting text through my tablet PC.
